uni form: Broken Twill – Berlin Edition continues the project that began in August 2025 at the Total Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, joining art, fashion and technology. The Berlin edition is a full digital transformation: every element of the Seoul show was converted into a data set — the basis for AI-driven, generative recompositions.

Social structures seen through the concept of the uniform: collectivity versus individuality, discipline versus freedom.

The deliberately shifted twill weave serves as a visual leitmotif for the tension between regulation and freedom.
Artists
Chul Yong Choi
Fashion designer and contemporary artist (Hongik University, Domus Academy). After years as art director for European fashion brands, he founded his label Cy Choi in 2009; his work centres on a series on the theme of uniforms.
Hyojung Seo — "Broken Twill Study I–IV"
Translates the structure of textile fabrics into the language of data, exploring how physical fabric can be reinterpreted as an algorithmic pattern.
Emi Kusano — "Office Ladies"
Through a post-human aesthetic, makes visible the tensions between labour, gender and social roles.
Anton Shebetko — "We Were Here"
Portrays LGBTQ soldiers in Ukraine and asks how individuals preserve their dignity within the collective discipline of the uniform.
