Breathing with
the chaos:
Berlin Edition

Some exhibitions do not disappear when they end; they breathe again elsewhere, in another form.

Introduction to the exhibition

Breathing with the Chaos: Berlin Edition is a space where the sensibility that began with Ayako Rokkaku at the Total Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul continues in Berlin through new images and rhythms.

Rokkaku’s painting begins with the hand. Fingers touch before the brush, bodily impulse comes before intention, and color spreads before form. Her work becomes not simply an image, but a movement of sensation. The sensibility that unfolded at the Total Museum now continues in another way within digital space.

In this exhibition, participating artists do not simply reproduce Rokkaku’s work. Instead, they reinterpret the textures of color, the movement of the hand, the impression of space, and the fragments of sensation left behind by the exhibition, transforming them into new digital works. In this process, AI is less a cold technology than a medium for translating sensation. The painterly impulse that begins in the human hand passes through algorithms and takes on new light and rhythm, while an exhibition, rather than ending, branches, trembles, and is generated again.

What the viewer encounters here is not merely the shadow of an original work. It is the very way an exhibition continues to live beyond its end, expanding itself through other forms and other sensibilities.
